  1. There were about 50 girls for this session form the age group 10 years onwards to 15 years or so. The girls were aware of the physical changes that the body will undergo. A demonstration on how to use the sanitory pad was given to the girls. Disposal of the pad was also discussed.Staining and use of the pad at night time was touched upon. The girls were also updated on how to keepa track of their dates with the help of calender. Some had white discharge.
There is a register that is made availabe to teh inmates that they have to record their menstrual cycle in it on a monthly basis. It is a good system.
The sanitory pad and undergarments are provided by the orphanage. In the disposal it was clearly mentioned that the girls wrap it up in a newspaper and then dispose it.
Use of water and keeping the body clean with soap was affirmed.
In the end idid touch upon good touch and bad touch and my body my right and safety of women.
In case of absence of the menstrual cycle it must be immediate ly reported to the administrtative head.
The girls were single parent children. Some were abondened and left to fate.In most cases the fathers whereabouts were unknown, leaving the mother to fend for the girl child.
